The Calorie Reduction Summit

The Calorie Reduction Summit takes place at The Royal Society, London on June 26thand provides a vital and timely forum to bring together industry, out-of-home and on-the-go, academia, policymakers and public health to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by developments in nutrition policy, examine the science and evidence around calorie reduction and portion control and discuss what further steps are needed.    

 

The inaugural event includes a whole section dedicated to out-of-home and on-the-go food, with speakers including PHE’s Out of Home Team Leader, Sacha Clark from Subway, Prof Theresa Marteau from University of Cambridge and Anita Jones-Mueller from US business, HealthyDining.Biz, who will share insights on how to increase consumer interest in parallel with industry efforts and government “push”. 

Sharon Hodgson, Shadow Minister for Public Health will also be presenting, along with speakers from the Department of Health, British Nutrition Foundation, Euromonitor, Kerry Nutrition and Leatherhead Food Research.
